The Chef Stagiaire Award involves some of the top Rosetted and Michelin Starred restaurants in the UK, challenging aspiring under-25’s in a test of culinary finesse, for a chance to win a stage (like a high-end internship) alongside a world-class chef.
Tanc were engaged to design a visual identity that would appeal to restaurateurs and potential candidates alike, with a look that would fit the prestige around the venues and people involved.
I was given the task of designing the logo and print items:

My logomark intended to hint at the idea of a trophy, subtly referencing iconic black and white kitchen tiles with its square white base. I kept colours minimal, aiming for a sophisticated kind of simplicity, and an Art Deco-influenced typeface was used to conjure thoughts of French cuisine.
